I had some steel rectangular tubing I wanted to form into a part to
     hold dial indicators on my lathe. The band saw was too slow and some
     cuts were not possible on a band saw. I discovered the solution.

     I put a warn down to (10 inches)  14 inch friction saw blade and put
     in in the table saw. Worked like a charm and  it was almost as
     fast as a hot knife through butter:-)

     It is wonderful and great for cutting sheet steel up to about 1/8th
     or maybe 3/16th inch thick. Much cleaner and much faster and much
     cheaper than a cutting torch.

     I use a metal cutting blade in my table saw, I have one set up just
     for metal. I can't remember the manufacturer name, the blades are
     about $50 for a 10 in but they are made for his purpose and work
     great. I have cut up to 1.25 6061T6 and .250 4130 with them. Just
     watch your feed rate and use cutting lube.

     No scoring needed.

   I use a carbide blade for cutting aluminum on the table saw.
   That works great.

   Never tried it on steel. That scares me :-)

   Lenox and Evolution blades made for cutting steel and aluminum are the
   blades made for a table saw. They work great and if you feed it straight
   and use cutting lube (the one I used looks like a wax stick, works
   great) you get a really good finished edge.

   Yep, it was a bit scary but it will work fine. The noise it what gets to
   me. Even with ear plugs I find I clinch my jaw while feeding the
   material. Not sure whether it is just the noise or the noise and the
   high frequency vibration together.

Lol, I almost did but bought a hydraulic bandsaw with a 6x8 throat for cutting angle and both round and square tubing, and built a plasma cutter cnc table for sheet steel.
