Hi Paul,

you think ? As you can see the ring is retained by four roll pins,
is this a good idea ?

cheers Chris Hoskins.

The role pins are a good idea. They act like 3 keyways. At that
radius the load is low. This was back in the days when people were
lucky to get 150 HP.

Hi Paul, how do 4 roll pins act like 3 keyways? I think the 6 or 8
tapped short screws around the peripheral are a much better idea,
especially when the ring gear is a snug fit in the housing. Dave

Sorry Dave! 4 keyways.  I had been working my butt off getting this
RX8 water block so the machinist is happy :-) The weight is down to
.65 pound.

True the extended point set screws would work good as well. This Ross
design is 47 years old. Long before  the extended point set screw was
invented.

Paul,

Are you going to be selling that Rx-8 pump out/inlet piece?

Dan Gorsline

I am thinking about it if I can get it made.
