It has been around a long time. It might be OK. I don't think anybody on the news letter
ever had one. At least I don't  think they uploaded a message about it.

In theory they have two problems. Neither gear is straddle mounted so
the gears can deflect in the disengage direction. Allison gave up on the
design in the early 1930's. The other problem is the line contact length
between the teeth. For a given gear width the Ford planetary set is six times
stronger because there are six planetary gears and the contact length
is six inches wide. Unbeatable with just two gears..

The last problem with this specific version is the 2.4 to one ratio
is not high enough for a rotary. The rotary needs 3 to one or higher.
