Paul, Can you give me the flow rates for the Mazda yellow injectors
please?

Neil. Ungar

I don't think I have anything official.

This is from https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tech-garage-22/fuel-injector-info-150432/page5/ ------------------------------------------------------------------
more accurate data for the yellow P2/Secondary injectors:

Flow Rates:

450cc/min at 3 bar

486cc/min at 3.5 bar

524cc/min at 4 bar

[524 cubic centimeter/minute = 8.305  gallon/hour [US]]

[51.9 pounds per hour at 6.25 pound per gallon]

[At  a BSFC of .5 pounds per hp that is like 100 HP per injector A lot :-)
Full rich full power it is .65 BSFC or 80 HP per injector.
Or 320 HP about right for a p-port at 10,000 RPM :-)]

Resistance: 11.8-16.5 Ohms

Voltage: 8-15 Volts, Nominal 13.5 Volts

Amperage: 1.0 Amps

Pressure: Min. 36 PSI (2.5 bar), Max. 101 PSI (7 bar)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some electric pumps won't put out 100 PSI at these kinds of
flow rate and pressures so check your pumps.

The TTC electric boost pump pressure would drop way off to
about 50 psi when we asked it to start the TTC engine.
It would however start. Then the mechanical pump took over
and gave us 150 PSI.

Paul Lamar

That is a lot of pressure considering most port EFI systems run about 43 to 50 PSI.
Direct injection is about 2000 PSI. Is that part of the methanol fuel enrichment
required of running alcohol?

Dale Davies

Bosch injectors. You need the pressure to get enough  methanol
for 650 HP with only four injectors.

2000 cubic centimeter/minute = 31.700  gallon/hour [US] Max.

Just 4 is 126 gallons per hour or 792 pounds per hour Max.
at a full rich  BEFC of .65 that is  1,200 HP!!!! Possible for a 2 rotor
at well over 100 inches of Hg manifold pressure and 11,000 RPM.
Imagine under 200 pounds for the engine and turbo !!!!!!

Mind blowing!!!

Mark my words. The Wankel will replace the turbo prop sooner or later.
I might be dead by that time but it is going to happen.

I had my yellow injectors cleaned and flow tested.

408cc @ 2.25bar

Then had them modified

820cc @ 2.25bar

2.25 is a little low. That is about 34 psi. Most efi system run 50 psi.

   Paul Lamar

That is just the bar the flow tester machine tests at. Not what I run the engine at.
   I'm running the engine @ 4bar
