Paul,

 

Do you know what the tach signal coming off of the trailing igniter yellow wire looks like ( voltage frequency range)?

 

I think you get 2 pulses per rev.

 

I would like to condition the signal for the arduino engine monitor.

Two pulses per rev of the Crank Angle Sensor. However the Crank Angle Sensor is geared
to the e-shaft and it runs at half E-shaft speed.
There is another sensor in there that puts out 12 pulses per E-shaft rotation.
Use that for a tach signal.

Press the roll pin out of the gear and chuck it in a drill press.
Use an O-scope to look at the wires.
