   The story of Mr Eric Barger is not complete although it is very good:
   He should mention that the French car manufacturer CITROEN started a rotary engine project that included a car and a small helicopter. In 1969 they produced a batch of 267 M35-cars for road test and found enough people adventurous enough to buy them; the engine was a 500cm3 two-rotor.
   Then in 1973, they produced a version of their GS with a two-rotor 990cm3. 846 were produced.
   The high fuel consumption, the OPEP crisis raising dramatically the fuel cost and overcapacity of plants producing piston engines caused the cancellation of this adventure

   Wikipedia has several articles about it, however in French. I can help translate

Also there is a segment titled Toyota. In the paragraph though it is Toyo Kogyo that is mentioned. Someone was confused writing that as then Toyo Kogyo changed their name about '75 to Mazda.
