Joe,
Here is an over view of the maximite. We also have a Maximite source
code program for recording the compression on the rotary. The Mazda
tool to do this is several hundred dollars.
----------------------------------------------------- Here is some
experiments with the Ford V8 mass air flow sensor. I uses a small
electric fan to simulate the air going into the engine. Worked like a
charm. Of course it was idel air.

Paul, So if we were to use one maximite for each rotor it would be
possible to control the injectors for a two rotor. And I guess it
could be set up to work with a MAP sensor instead of a MAF sensor.
Is it possible to have the injector sequence end at say 80° before
top dead center? Could this be shown in a chart form? Injector
timing BTDC/pressure/RPM
Could you also have chart showing the injector duty in cells for
pressure versus RPM?
Or would we need more maximite boards for each of these functions?
Barry Bordes
The Manifold Air Pressure sensor does not compensate for air
temperature. The Mass Airflow Sensor does.
One Maximite per rotor does it all. You fire the injector once per
revolution.
A very simple way of firing it at any crank angle is use another
crank angle sensor. That removes a lot of software.
I would inject into the next chamber when it came time to fire the
plug in a given chamber. The unique geometry of the wankel allows
this. Super simple.
A third Maximite could record everything once a second and display
everything on the small LCD on the instrument panel.
Paul Lamar
Paul,
What fires the ignition?
I looked at the M&W site and there are T1, t2, l1,and L2.
Joe Berki
Those are the Leading and Trailing coils.
Four total. One for each plug.
Simple.
Paul Lamar
Paul,
Where does the signal going to T1,T2, L1 and L2 come from?
It has to come from the ECU?
The M&W hardware takes the place of the Mazda 2nd Gen igniters?
Joe Berki
I think it has two modes. A simple mode is pin 5 from the crank angle
sensors.
The other mode is computer control for advance and so fourth.
You will have to contact them as it is not clear from the documentation.
I think the TTC uses computer control.
I don't know why they have so much trouble with doc in Oz :-)
I tried to contact them using the contact form on their web site and it
fielded.
Perhaps Neal Unger can forward this to them.
