Hi!: attached please find a sheet, sorry, text is in Spanish, about dimensions and weight comparisons of Corvair and NSU Ro-80 Comotor engines. Wikipedia has a good list of variants of Corvair engine produced, you know many Aviation Corvair Conversions exist, but I feel bad in citing here a reciprocating engine, lacking the safety, the reliability features Wankel has in aviation.


The other document is a performance comparison in a German 1972 Auto Magazine, don't know the name, of a VW Porsche 914 with the original flat-six air cooled engine, and another with an NSU Ro-80 Comotor engine with its semi-automatic transmission. It had an electric switch activated clutch, the switch was in the shift column, clutch was moved by the vacuum in the intake manifold; in highway, the sliding of torque converter was locked for economy. Transformation was done in the Franco Sbarro workshops, Switzerland, 1972.
