Both aircraft and cars are compromises in numerous areas.  Combining both functions exponentially increases these compromises.  Practical issues such as having 8 invisible meat slicers running unprotected in congested areas, as well as the risk to the craft of even a minor impact ("fender bump") that could render it unairworthy will remain huge challenges.
