       A friend of mine bought Lewis' single rotor engine, it is now sitting in my hangar. It is going into a single place Quickie. Yes, it was side mounted, it will be mounted normal orientation. I thought we had better check out the gearbox. Lucky we did, Lewis, you are one lucky son of a gun, it would not have lasted very long the three bolts that held the planet carrier to the output drive were LOOSE, I mean VERY loose, one of the bolts had backed off about 1/4" and the thick washer under the bolt head had been contacting the ring gear quite badly giving it a "milled" edge like a coin. I made up three spacers of the correct length and torqued them down tight. Like I said Lewis, good to have you still around.

Glad to be around, too. I suspect some of that play occurred with the prop strike.
You might want to find a better way to secure the bolts, as I've been in that gear reduction a few times and always found them tight.
