 Hi Paul: While replacing the rack & pinion on my '86 RX7 I noticed
 some oil & sludge all over the plastic oil injection lines which
 appear to be starting to fail (they are 32 years old after all). I've
 looked around and only found one source for $225.00+ a set which
 seems a bit excessive so I thought that you might have suggestions
 for a cost effective methodology to replace them. I'm planning on
 installing a diversion block in order to use 2 cycle oil from a
 remote tank so I need to accommodate it, do you have any
 suggestions? I've followed your newsletter for some time now and
 would like to thank for a wonderful publication, I look forward to
 your response!

You have hit on the major reason Mazda Wankel's fail.
Those nylon lines get brittle after about 10 years and they
crack or break. Then the apex seals do not get the required
oil for cooling.

Mix one ounce per gallon of fuel until you get those replaced.
With a car that old you might not be able to get a new set.

If I were doing it I would replace them with small steel brake line
(hose).

Also contact Richard Sohn he may have some parts.

I have a set of 1/8OD stainless oil lines with brazed end fittings and a modified mechanical
OMP and an alum oil reservoir tank that I won't be needing. Can supply pix from my email acct.
