Last I heard Freedom motors was associated in some way with Paul Moller.

Paul Moller has been around for 30 years collecting investment money
for an aircraft that never flew let alone performing the way he claimed.
Apparently it was a scam. He made the cover of pop science more than once.

Ducked fans don't work in speed ranges above 130 MPH and below 600 MPH.
Despite a PHD he was too stupid to know that :-)

Perry Mick worked on them for years finally giving up and went 20 or 30 Kts faster
on the same fuel burn with just a prop.
