Paul, Is there a documented solution to replace the flexplate with a more
substantial unit to avoid disintegration or cracking?
Thanks Joe Berki
Well some of people have used a steel flywheel.
Dave Leonard as I recall.
The best solution is use the stock plate with a rubber coupling.

Paul did you get a chance to publish the final CAD drawings and files for the
coupling? I might have missed it if so.
Thanks.

We have three designs. Which one do you like.?
Paul
Which ever one would be the most practical to build in a local machine shop based on
the CAD drawings, and also fit into Tracys redrive without other modifications.
Thanks

This is the simple-est and easiest to build.
The blue is just a chunk of aluminum bar.
The stock FORD part is cut down a bit on the lathe.

There is some photos of the one i build

The larger bolt circle diameter of the cantilevered studs would rely on the Ford part.
The Ford part is powdered metal and not thick enough to handle
the cantilevered bending loads the studs would be subject too.
If this was made out of steel and thick enough it would not fit in
the space available.
On the other hand one could lengthen the Tracy Crook spacers to give more
room which is essentially what we did with the time to climb record holding aircraft.
Of course you would wind up with more weight. The TTC coupling was also overkill
even for 650 HP.

I am going to enforce that rule. If people don't do that it will not be published. My
ISP changed the rules.
