Well - no ;-)

All around the world companies are still spending millions + billions for
the development + analysis of their seals ...

Please, have a look at the attachment.

Sealing + leakage is not only an issue of the RE ... ;-)

The ring itself is the spring. Consequently there are not a lot of things you can change
to change the friction.

The apex seal is another matter. I think two small coil
spring, one on each end of the seal, might be an improvement when it comes to the
present leaf spring overheating and losing it's temper.
