I have been watching a You Tube channel under Rob Dahm, who is building a massive turbocharged 4 rotor custom RX-7 prototype. There are few if any Mazda parts on this cat. The car is a 4 wheel drive, chromoly steel frame tricked out rocket, similar to how NASCAR cars are designed.

Dahm has numerous followers which includes several major vendors/suppliers/partners of accessories/services, many  of whom are donating their time/wares to the project. He has nearly daily updates which for this week culminates in starting the engine for the first time on a stand. Warning for rotor motor heads...eye candy abounds. Rob is partially funding these projects with the funds that he makes off of his YouTube channel, along with all of the donated stuff.

The goal is to finish the car and take it to the SEMA car show.

If he does everything right he will probably have 1500 HP or more
I know of no class of racing that this can compete.
